Hey, have you heard about the Great Britain Amateur Boxing Award scheme? It's a non-contact program now running all over the country in boxing clubs, school P.E. lessons, after-school clubs, youth groups, colleges, and universities. And guess what? It's coming soon to our very own Winchester boxing club!

The GB Boxing Awards is a fantastic recreational activity teaching kids aged 5 and up the basics of non-contact amateur boxing. They’ll learn stance, guard, footwork, punches, and defences. Each lesson is super structured with a warm-up stretch, fun games, non-contact boxing and a cool down with flexibility exercises at the end.

This scheme is set up as a 6-stage National Award, with levels from preliminary to Platinum. Each award spans 8 one-hour sessions. After completing each level, students get certificates and medals. They’ll have a GB Boxing Booklet with exercises and questions to complete, earning marks for proper attire, good behaviour, and enthusiasm.

The GB Boxing Awards also tie into the ASAN Certificate of Personal Effectiveness (CoPE). 

Certificates can be used to support the following:

• GCSE, BTEC, ASDAN, Duke of Edinburgh Award and Princes Trust

• This certificate has a value of one credit towards all ASDAN awards and qualifications
